Indoor air quality is one concern homeowners have when they decide to investigate air duct cleaning. Your heating and cooling system serves as the lungs of your home. It takes in air and “breathes” it out.
Through normal activity in a home, we generate a great deal of contaminants and air pollutants, such as pet dander, dust, and chemicals. These contaminants are pulled into the HVAC system and recirculate an average of 5 to 7 times per day.
Q: How often should I get my air ducts and dryer vents cleaned?
A: We recommend air duct cleaning every 3 to 5 years and dryer vent cleaning annually.
Q: How should a residential HVAC system be cleaned?
A: Residential HVAC system cleaning should be completed using the Source Removal Method. This method requires the entire system to be put under a negative air pressure. We achieve this with our powerful vacuum, the Nikro PDC 4000, attached to your system. While the vacuum draws air through your system, the technicians use air tools (or brushes) that are inserted into the air ducts. This dislodges all contaminants, which then travel into the vacuum’s HEPA filters. No dirt or contaminants are released into your home.
Q: How long does the process take?
A: For an average size home, it takes 3 – 4 hours depending on the degree of contamination.
Q: Can I remain in the house while the system is being cleaned?
A: Yes, but we do ask that you stay clear of the equipment that is being used to clean. Your HVAC system will be turned off during this process.
Q: What is EnviroCON, and is it necessary?
A: EnviroCON is specific to the HVAC industry and is highly effective in eliminating odor causing microorganisms as well as those associated with mold, mildew and bacterial growth. Q: Do you have weekend and evening appointments?
A: Yes we provide weekend and evening appointments at no extra charge.
Q: Will there be any dust blown in the house?
A: No because of the negative air pressure that is placed on the system the dust is being pulled and collected on the HEPA filters rather than being blown back into the house.
